The EVA is pleased to announce the publication of its latest Vending & Office Coffee Service (OCS) Market Report, covering data up to the end of 2024.
On a European level machine fieldbase and vends have shown very little growth compared to the previous year, with only revenue continuing to grow. Worth also noting is a clear change in the overall breakdown of machines placed in the workplace, dropping to 70% from 80% pre-pandemic. This demonstrates concretely that machine operators are diversifying their sites, in order to compensate for partial home working by office workers.
Out of the Tier 1 ‘Big 6’ countries, the Italian market appears to be declining, with drops reported in machine fieldbase, consumption as well as in overall revenue. Indeed in the later criteria, Italy is the only market among the 24 covered in the report that saw a drop in product revenue (-2.9%). This is despite the general trend to compensate consumption reductions by price increases. Italy however, by far remains the market with the largest number of machines (809,000).
France overtakes Germany as the biggest market in terms of total product revenue with €3.69 billion. With regards to consumption, the Netherlands as a primarily OCS market remains at the top, totalling by itself 5.66 billion vends.
The report covers the market position up to the end of 2024, but with the economic headwinds seen already since the start of 2025, the new figures may point to the beginning of a more general slowing down of the vending market, with concerns that it could unfortunately morph into a more general stagnation of the industry in the coming years.
The much anticipated annual report is as always freely available for EVA members, while non-members can contact us today for the pricing options and full details of the content covered: vending@vending-europe.eu
