The French vending industry is in mourning as it bids farewell to a true character of the sector, Mr. Pierre Albrieux, who passed away on 27 October, 2023. Pierre Albrieux was not just the President of the French Vending Association (NAVSA) from 2016 to 2023 but also the proud owner of the regional vending company Alfragest, which he had managed since 1991.

Throughout his tenure as the President of NAVSA, Pierre Albrieux was a beacon of strength and leadership. The vending industry faced numerous challenges and crises during his leadership, but each time, Pierre’s response was characterised by determination, boundless energy, and an unwavering passion. He was not merely a leader but a force of nature, always placing the interests of the sector above all else.

Pierre was known for his ‘Gallic’ streak, a unique blend of outspokenness and extraordinary tenacity that set him apart. He never shied away from speaking his mind and standing up for what he believed in. This unapologetic approach, combined with his commitment to the welfare of the industry, left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working with him.

What made Pierre’s legacy even more remarkable was his ability to balance his responsibilities as NAVSA President with the management of his own vending SME in Lyon. Few in his position would have been able to maintain such a demanding dual role, yet he did so with remarkable dedication.

We, as EVA, will forever cherish the memories of the years of collaboration with Pierre Albrieux and the French federation. His leadership was a source of inspiration for all who had the honor of knowing him, and it was a pleasure and an honor to be guided by this man.

As we come to terms with the loss of Pierre, it is important that we pay tribute to his professionalism and unwavering commitment to the vending industry. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

La famille de la distribution automatique est en deuil, car un grand personnage du secteur de la DA, M. Pierre Albrieux, est décédé le 27 octobre 2023. Pierre Albrieux était non seulement le président de l’Association française de la distribution automatique (NAVSA) de 2016 à 2023, mais aussi le propriétaire de la société de distribution automatique Alfragest, qu’il gérait depuis 1991.

Il a marqué ces dernières années au travers des différentes crises que collectivement la profession a dû traverser. A chaque fois Pierre a su répondre avec beaucoup de détermination, d’énergie et de passion. Pour beaucoup d’entre nous, il a été un véritable leader, une force de la nature, qui a toujours mis en avant les intérêts du secteur. Nous appréciâmes son côté gaulois, c’est-à-dire un franc parler accompagné d’une opiniâtreté hors norme. Pendant son mandat de Président de NAVSA il n’a jamais compté les heures et s’est engagé pour le bien de tous tout en gérant sa PME à Lyon. Peu, à sa place, l’aurait fait. Nous garderons des souvenirs indélébiles des années de coopération que nous avons pu avoir avec lui et la fédération française ; ce fut un plaisir et un honneur de se laisser inspirer par ce grand homme. Pierre, nous manquera à tous, mais pour lui faire hommage, nous devrons perpétuer son héritage et continuer le combat qu’il a mené pour l’industrie, pour sa part, jusqu’à la fin. Nous saluons son professionnalisme et son engagement et nous souhaitons exprimer nos plus sincères condoléances à sa famille, ses proches et ses amis.
